8.00am You are met by a local facilitator at your hotel lobby for a briefing on the excursion before departing for a local market. The chef, who is an expert on Hue cuisine, guides you through the food stalls for necessary ingredients. Engage yourself in the buying activities while listening to the chef’s explanation on the usage of each item. The market tour offers you a chance to learn of various indigenous produce as well as to appreciate the lively activities of a traditional marketplace.
9.00am Head for the host home, a traditional style house with three bays. Enjoy a warm welcome from the family and have a chat with the host over a local green tea before the family style cooking session commences. Under the host’s guidance, you learn how to cook two typical specialties of Hue including Five-colour Spring Rolls(fresh vegetables with different colours as main ingredients for spring rolls) and Com Hen (rice with baby clams).
12.00pm Now that the cooking work is done, you can sit back and enjoy your accomplishment. Savour your lunch which is composed of the dishes you’ve cooked and two other items prepared on the side by the family. During the meal, stories are shared
